
I am going to be out of the country for a week and didn’t want to abandon you for the holidays, so I found three amazing bloggers who graciously agreed to guest post! To start off the week I have Michelle from Sweet Talk (@michellerose14) sharing her holiday rice krispie treats – enjoy!
Guest posting is always a fun idea for readers, especially during the great baking holiday season! This year I’m doing pre-Christmas dessert-ing in LA and will be celebrating the actual holiday in Chicago.
This means instead of my usual month long holiday prep, I’m doing more baking projects and experiments now so my week before Christmas I will be in full-on baking mode, no experimenting needed.
Last weekend, my roommates and I tested out dyed rice krispie treats. This was surprisingly easy, though definitely not a solo task. You all know rice krispies are a time sensitive dessert, you have to make sure to keep stirring the butter, marshies and cereal in order to ensure no burned butter and evenly mixed treats.
Adding the element of color means you need a couple more hands on deck. Perfect for me, since three of us tackled this project together.
What I love most about rice krispie treats is that they are easy. Yes, I mentioned the possibility of burning the butter, but once the melted butter is swirling around the pan, you’re on your way to success. [Read more...]
