You Are What You Eat!

Question: How many people eat organic?

Answer: NOT ENOUGH!!

Eating organic is important.

Why should you eat organic? Some of the basic reasons are:

  1. You can protect your family’s health.
  2. You can help the earth.
  3. You can protect the farmers’ health, and support the small scale/local farmers.
  4. Your food will taste better.
  5. And most importantly, you will stop eating chemicals!

This morning I saw a tweet from Boulder Locavore that had a link to this video from Stonyfield Farm. The CE-YO, Gary Hirshberg, and others sing some valuable reasons as to why you should “just eat organic!”

Still not convinced??

Peaceful Greens Helps Us Remember to Support Our Local Restaurants

Peaceful Greens

I recently had the pleasure of crossing the bridge to visit a sweet little restaurant called Peaceful Greens.

Peaceful Greens is an all organic, vegan/vegetarian restaurant that was created by Tina Janssen. The Peaceful Greens menu focuses on using local foods to have that farm to table aspect at her restaurant.

She offers specials to those who bring in farmer’s market receipts and students who make the effort to cross the bridge.

When I was reading through the menu I noticed how amazingly healthy everything was, and couldn’t help to think how I wish I could be that healthy in all the food I cook.

I later found out she doesn’t use any oil in her food preparation.

If anyone is ever visiting Purdue or Lafayette and looking for a healthy choice for somewhere to eat, this is your place. The staff is friendly and the food is pure.
