Volcanoes {Milk Bar Monday 4/15}

volcano2

The Milk Bar Monday series is back! It’s been a little over a month since the bagel bombs, but a lot has happened in that month. Hopefully sometime in the next few weeks I can share with you all what I’ve been up to… but that probably won’t be until after graduation (scary!!!!!!)

This week our post is sticking to the savory side of things. We decided to do another Mother Dough recipe, one I have been eyeing for a long time, the volcanoes.

Bagel Bombs {Milk Bar Monday 3/11}

bagelbomb

This week we are bringing back one of my favorite milk bar recipes, the mother dough.

We first introduced the mother dough when we made the cinnamon bun pie. It got mixed reviews from our crew, but I loved it.

I have been dying to make more of Tosi creations with the mother dough, and we finally got back around to it!

Strawberry Scones {SRC 4/16}

strawberry scones

It’s time for another Secret Recipe Club reveal day! I am excited about today. For some reason it seems like’s it been a long time since March’s reveal day when I made apple pancakes.

Today I am sharing a recipe for strawberry scones from Debby at A Feast for the Eyes.

I was excited to find her scone recipe. As I’m sure you can tell, I’ve been on a strawberry kick.

The scones are light and fluffy, and delicious warmed up with a big cup of coffee in the morning.

I had a lot of fun looking through Debby’s site. I wish I would have waited a week or two before making my recipe because now I am drooling over her pineapple jam! nom!

Cinnamon Rolls

cinnamon rolls

I used to think cinnamon rolls were just like any other sweet breakfast treat. All of that sweet dough, plus sugar and butter then to top it all of a pure sugar glaze.

Not that I didn’t love all that sweetness, or the characteristic pop of the tube, it just wasn’t my favorite sweet thing.

I will admit, I loved the occasional Cinnabon. But they were only a really special treat when we were traveling so I didn’t get too attached.

When we (the #milkbarmonday ladies) made the cinnamon bun pie a few weeks ago, I became smitten with breakfast items.

And to use up the second half of my mother dough, what could be better than cinnamon rolls filled with liquid cheesecake?!

Are you a breakfast fan? What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?

Arugula Pesto Bread for #greenslove

pesto swirl bread

This month’s theme for the #lovebloghop was leafy greens! That’s right, March is #greenslove. Be sure to add any of your March 2012 recipes that include leafy greens to the hop!

I must admit, when I first saw that the theme for this month was leafy greens I was stumped.

Desserts don’t usually have leafy greens in them.

That thought got me to bread. Bread would be more likely to have a leafy green in it somewhere.

And then it struck me, pesto! I once made an arugula pesto in high school. This was the perfect time to retest that recipe and use it as a bread filling!

This bread even pleased the previously pesto hating boyfriend.

I recommend it toasted for breakfast with eggs. Or as the bread in a grilled chicken panini.
